The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Established in 1972, it has grown to become a premier medical institution in Northeast India.
RIMS Imphal is dedicated to providing high-quality medical education, cutting-edge research, and comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Manipur and neighboring states. The institute operates a 750-bed teaching hospital that serves as a tertiary care referral center for the region.
Our campus spans over 200 acres in Langol, Imphal West District, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern laboratories, well-stocked libraries, and residential facilities for students and staff. The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC).
RIMS Imphal has been instrumental in addressing the unique healthcare challenges of Northeast India, including tropical diseases, maternal and child health issues, and trauma care. Our community outreach programs extend healthcare services to remote areas of Manipur.
